What xHamster sends

xHamster lists MP4 files up to 720p, but in our tests they refused to download outside its own player. Its stream works, from 144p up to 1080p, so we join that into one MP4 as it downloads.

Where xHamster also has an AV1 version, you get the H.264 one: it plays on every phone and TV.

Does it work for vertical videos?

Yes. The quality is counted on the short side, so a vertical 1080×1920 video is listed as 1080p.

Why “about” sizes?

The stream is joined while you download, so the exact size is known at the end.
